2007 CHRISTMAS AT UP DILIMAN!

It's Christmas time again at UP! All those wonderful blinkenlights, cool sunken garden breeze, and the oh-so-tempting-but-so-unvegetarian food stalls are here again to remind us of the season. And what's Christmas at UP without those memorable events like Ms Engg, Awitan, Indakan, and Lantern Parade?

Dec 12 (Wednesday)
Jammeng
Jammeng’g 2007 is a musical band competition open to all the professional and non-professional bands of the University of the Philippines-Diliman. This event is hosted by the UP ACES.

Smokers Night (ACT ONE: Red Carpet Bash)
Never really attended one, and no description available on the Internet. If what I hear is correct, this is a variety show with the audience having the license to 'okray' all the 'okrayness' they want and throw crumpled paper at the performers. Now isn't that fun?

Dec 13 (Thursday)
Awitan
a University-wide Christmas Choral Competition open to all amateur choral groups of the different student formations and student organizations of UP Diliman. This year’s AWITAN, dubbed as Once Upon a December shall feature songs from the different animated movies.

Oblation Run
Where: Palma Hall (AS)
When: 12NN
The UP Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity willstage the 2007 OBLATION RUN on December14, 2007, 12NN, at Palma Hall (AS),University of the Philippines-Diliman.This fraternity tradition turns into auniversity event attracting big crowdand media mileage.

Indakan
An interpretative dance competition hosted by UP ACES

Maskipaps is a Fashion Show/ Modelling Competition.

Dec 19 (Wednesday)
Lantern Parade
A display of colorful floats, lanterns, and costumed performances. It has since become a spectacular venue for creative expression among the different members of the UP community and a fitting way to end classes for Christmas.

Ms Engg (Dream Girls)
Oh la la... they're young, they're gorgeous, and they're out to conquer your hearts! Each org shall be represented by a stunning beauty to battle for the title of Miss Engg. They will use their charms, wit, and talent to vie for the crown and the crowd.

And oh, did I forget to tell you that they are cross-dressed males?
